Community Survey - 2021

Last July and August, many residents responded to a questionnaire relating to services provided by the Shire and how those services were perceived.
The results of that survey have now been tabulated and the results are generally good although there are still a few areas where the Shire needs to improve.
Good news first.
The Council’s highest scores were in the areas of sport and recreation, liveability, governance and value for money from rates. However, even though most of these areas were above the industry average, liveability was still below the industry average even with a ten points climb.
So there is no reason for the Shire to rest on its laurels. There’s still a lot of work to do, even with the very positive responses of residents.
Significant gains were also made in the areas of Aboriginal recognition and respect, social media presence, youth services and facilities and disability access and inclusion.
Economic development and tourism are two areas that responders have identified that need more work by the Shire.
Councillors and staff would like to thank all those who gave of their time to complete the rather lengthy questionnaire. The results were both gratifying for the hard work that Councillors and staff have done while reminding us of the road that lays ahead.
